By TRIBUNE SPORTS STAFF
The Dayton Lady Hoopstars AAU girls basketball team -- known throughout the country from the TV series "Totally Hoops" on the Disney Channel -- is coming to Kokomo on Sunday, May 20 to hold a clinic and also to play an exhibition game. The Disney Channel follows the Hoopstars throughout their season, turning their triumphs and travails into the "Totally Hoops" TV series. The Kokomo clinic, which is open to girls and boys in grades 1-8 and carries a $10 fee, is limited to the first 150 applicants. Entries can be picked up at the Carver Community Center and are due by May 9. The Lady Hoopstars will hold a clinic from 1-3 p.m. May 20 at Memorial Gym with an autograph session to follow from 3-4 p.m. At 4 o'clock, the Hoopstars will meet the Indiana's Finest AAU team in an exhibition matchup. Indiana's Finest has won three straight state championships and features two local players -- Eastern eighth-grader Bre Howell and Northwestern seventh-grader Audrey McDonald. The exhibition game will be open to the public, with tickets priced at $2 (adults) and $1 (students.)
